Cruising and Formula 1
MSC Cruises has just pulled off something no one in Formula 1 has ever done before — unveiling an F1 car on board a cruise ship.
While docked in Barcelona, MSC World Europa, MSC Cruises’ flagship and one of the most energy-efficient cruise ships in the world, became the dramatic stage for the reveal of the BWT Alpine Formula One Team’s 2026 car. It was a bold moment that perfectly captured what MSC does best: combining innovation, design and unforgettable experiences.

Heading for net-zero carbon emmissions
This wasn’t just about spectacle. Both Formula 1 and MSC Cruises are working towards net-zero carbon emissions goal for a more sustainable future.
During the event, MSC World Europa operated on Bio-LNG, making the ship net-zero for carbon emissions for the day — a powerful statement of MSC Cruises’ long-term commitment to cleaner fuels and more sustainable cruising.

MSC and F1 focus on sustainability
Guests experienced the very best of MSC hospitality, from world-class dining created by MSC’s corporate chefs to panoramic views across the Port of Barcelona. Even the water served reflected MSC’s sustainability drive, with onboard filtration helping eliminate millions of plastic bottles across the fleet each year.
F1 at Sea
From cutting-edge engineering to refined onboard living, this event showed how MSC Cruises is redefining what a modern cruise brand can be — on land, at sea, and now even in Formula 1.
