Answer to edition 695
There are two clues to the identity of the city both of which are of similar architecture. This was intentional when the church in the foreground was built. The church that is more prominent is often seen as the icon of the city and is dedicated to St Lorenz.
The style of architecture in the distorted image would suggest northern or central Europe. Together with a little research reveals the city as Nuremberg.

Congratulations to those who identified the distorted city from Where in the World (696) as Nuremberg: Atul (@pixodentist) and Jackie (@jackiesjourneys),
Well done.
This week's "Where in the World..."
This is a very distinctive skyline seen viewed from across a river. There is a classic children’s song, from my childhood, that comes to mind all about the bridge featured in the distorted image. Good luck
