Answer to edition 527 and 528
Where in the World (527) featured a pagoda. This would indicate that it was somewhere in the Far East However, there are several in western cities too (e.g. London’s Kew Gardens). Together with the palm tree and the pagoda, it is a safe bet that it is somewhere in the Far East. Most readers were able to identify the pagoda as the one in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The very distinctive architecture and the water in Where in the World (528) identify the city as Venice
