Answer to edition 437
It is surprising how many cities have rows of coloured houses. There is the island of Burano in Venice and Positano on the Cinque Terre. San Fransisco and Brighton each have an iconic row of coloured houses. However, in Where in the World (237) last week readers suggested a variety of other places (pictured below)

All of the above were suggested with varying degrees of confidence but none were correct. Either the architecture or the backdrop was incorrect. However, they are all rows of colourful houses.
The clean modern lines of the houses in the distorted image from last week would suggest less traditional locations. Many guessed The Netherlands and concentrated their research there.
The correct answer is Groningen

This week's "Where in the World..."
This week the distorted image features a city skyline. Its most prominent building is the major clue but other features serve as supplementary clues to the identity of the city.
