Where in the World (428)

Where in the World and Where in Britain

During the next few weeks, while here in England we are in lockdown, I will be posting a second distorted image of a second city from somewhere in Britain. This will be in addition to the main “Where in the World…” image which will continue as usual. Despite being on the same page they are separate puzzles. Scroll down for more details.

Answer to edition WITW edition 427

Where in the World (427) featured a very well-known building and in the distance a less recognisable skyline. At the time of its construction, it was a controversial opera house but has become a much-loved icon of the city. The city is Sydney, Australia.

Where in Britain for lockdown

As the majority of my readers are in lockdown at present I thought it would be a great time to have a second “Where in the World…” puzzle. As staycations are on the rise and international travel is virtually at a standstill I thought it time to test our knowledge British cities.

So, over the next fewweeks, I will be adding a distorted British city after the main puzzle. As in the main puzzle, all you have to do is identify the city. It should be a little easier because the country, Britain, has already been given as a clue.

Remember this is an additional puzzle. If you get one answer and not the other you can still post the one you know.

Answer to Where in Britain from last week

The bandstand in a park and red coloured building in the background are clues to the city’s identity. The bandstand is in a park in a loop of the River Severn overlooked by what was Shrewsbury School where Charles Darwin, Micheal Heseltine and other notables were educated. The city, therefore, is Shrewsbury. Not an easy one to identify.

This week's Where in Britain

The second Where in Britain distorted image features a city skyline but not the most iconic one we are used to seeing. However, there is at least one clue that will help narrow down your research. Good luck.
