Answer to edition 702
As is often the case the style of architecture is a clue to the country or region.. In this case it likely places the city somewhere in the Far East, most likely Japan. You might have to resort to some research to discover what it actually is.
The prominent feature in distorted photograph is the iconic three-storied Sanjunoto Pagoda Kiyomizu-dera Temple which can be found in the Japanese city of Kyoto.
