13 years ago the first of 678 editions of “Where in the World…” was posted. You can find it here.
As usual I put up a small prize for the big celebrations. Cabin Max make a range of bags for travelling and I use them often on my travels because they are well made and durable. The prize will be their 20L Manhattan bag designed to fit under the seat of WizzAir, EasyJet or Ryanair, but equally useful as a back pack when exploring a city.
So dust off your travelling detective skills and identify this week’s city. It should be fairly easy. Get the answer correct and you will be entered in the prize draw after the deadline of Wednesday, September 10 at 10:00pm.
Answer to edition 677
The building that features fairly prominently is the best clue. Its architecture is rather unique being constructed in black and white stone. Even though it was built in 1925 the Gothic Revival may lead readers down the wrong path. However it is found in Botero Plaza and is a cultural centre in the Colombian city of Medellin.

Congratulations to those who identified the distorted city from Where in the World (678) as Medellin, Colombia: Jackie (@jackiesjourneys), Rebecca (@rebhalp) and Atul (@pixodentist).
Well done everyone.
This week's "Where in the World..."
Last month the theme was South American cities. I have decided to continue with a theme approach for the month of September. This month every city will have had the honour, though some might call it a curse, of having hosted a Summer Olympics in the modern era.
Remember this, as it will narrow down the possibilities. This week features a well known scene. All you have to do is identify the city. I don’t expect you to tell me the year it hosted The Games, just the city
