Answer to edition 676
The Olympic Rings are the most helpful clue. As we are continuing the South America theme this narrows it down to Brazil. The hosting city was Rio de Janeiro but a quick search of stadiums in Rio reveals non resemble the distorted photograph. As elsewhere, including London, not every venue is in the hosting city. Some sports, such as soccer, require more venues than the capital can provide. The stadium featured is, in fact, in Manaus, Brazil.

Congratulations to those who identified the distorted city from Where in the World (675) as Manau, Brazil: Dee (@DeeCornes), Tim (@timofnewbury) and Jackie (@jackiesjourneys).
Well done everyone.
This week's "Where in the World..."
This is the last of August’s South American cities. The building featured as a very distinctive architectural style and is the best clue to identifying the city. There is also a little section of skyline which might help in identifying or confirming your answer. Good luck.
