Tulip Spectacular at Arundel Castle

Tulip Festival 2025

The Arundel Castle Tulip Festival 2025 has burst into bloom, transforming the historic grounds of the West Sussex castle into a riot of colour. This annual spring celebration, now a major highlight on the UK’s horticultural calendar, features more than 110,000 tulips arranged both naturally and formally throughout the gardens.

Visitors to the gardens are treated to displays of themed floral arrangements across the estate. On the castle’s slopes, red and white tulips have been planted in a naturalistic style, echoing the wild beauty of an English spring. In contrast, the formal gardens showcase sweeping drifts of carefully curated tulips, set in symmetrical designs that frame ponds, rills, and classical statues as well as the Wildflower Garden with its iconic thatched roundhouse.

The man behind this floral wonderland is Arundel Castle’s award-winning Head Gardener, Martin Duncan. He and his expert team are responsible for planting and curating over 120 tulip varieties. Their work has earned the gardens the Historic Park & Gardens of the Year 2024 and is short-listed for 2025.

Open daily throughout April, the festival’s timing varies slightly with the weather, so checking for peak bloom updates is advised. Garden-only entry starts from £16, and with additional access to the castle’s interiors, visitors can enjoy a full day immersed in beauty, history, and horticulture.
