Answer to edition 598
Last week’s distorted image featured an iconic structure in the city to be identified, It is a Ferris wheel but there are numerous of these in cities around the world. The cabins or gondolas are distinctive and suggest this Ferris wheel is a much older design than many of the current glass-enclosed modern varieties. This particular Ferris wheel is the is the Weiner Riesenrad and is in an amusement park often referred to simply as Prater. The wheel is often referred to by the same name. Built in 1897 it can be found in the Austrian capital, Vienna
