Answer to edition 577
The onion-domed tower suggests part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and is part of the Dominican Monastery. In the background is the Church of the Presentation of St Mary. If neither of these two help you in identifying the city there is a statue in the centre of the distorted image that also may help.
This week was rather challenging but a little research reveals it to be the second city of the Czech Republic, České Budějovice known to many as the home of a light Czech beer known as Budweis although most people are more familiar with the American version. That’s another story that Tim (@timofnewbury) a beer aficionado and expert is probably more knowledgeable than me.

Firstly, congratulations to Jackie (jackiesjourneys) who has reached an incredible milestone with this week’s correct answer. It is three years of correct answers without a break. That’s the longest unbroken run anyone has had and beats her own record by 16 weeks. Well done Jackie.
Congratulations also to those who identified the distorted city from Where in the World (587) as České Budějovice: Bojan (@FunnyYummyWorld), Tim (@timofnewbury), Jackie (@jackiesjourneys) and Rebecca (@rebhalp).
Well done everyone.
This week's "Where in the World..."
This week is a little less challenging than last week. It features an iconic structure of the city to be identified. Good luck.
