Where in the World (538)

Answer to edition 537

The prominent tower in last week’s “Where in the World…” is known as the 101 Tower and for a while was the tallest building in the World. It is noted for its resistance to the high winds of typhoons common in the area and for the damping mechanism that enables it to withstand severe earthquakes of the Pacific Ring of Fire.

It is found in the capital of Taiwan, Taipei

Last week's winners

The list of winners is incomplete this week as I am attending a family wedding on Wednesday so this post has been pre-scheduled. It is correct as of 20:30 on Tuesday, December 27 2022. Any winners not mentioned will be mentioned later.

Congratulations to those who identified the distorted city from Where in the World (537) as Taipei, Taiwan: Tim (@timofnewbury), Jackie (@jackiesjourneys), Rebecca (@rebhalp) and Atul (@pixodentist).

Well done everyone.

This week's "Where in the World..."

This week the distorted image features three prominent buildings. These will, along with the bridge, provide clues to the identity of the city. Good luck with your investigative challenge.
