Where in the World (534)

Answer to edition 533

The clues for last week’s “Where in the World…” are mostly architectural. The style of architecture hints at Europe’s Alpine regions. This narrows down the possible number of cities quite considerably.

The most prominent feature is an oriel or small balcony with a prominent golden tiled roof. In fact, it is known as the Goldenes Dachl which translates as the Golden Roof.

It was built to commemorate the marriage of Emperor Maximillian to Bianca Maria Sforza in 1500 and is found in the Aldtstadt or Old Town of the Tyrolean city of Innsbruck

This week's "Where in the World..."

This week’s “Where in the World…” features a building for which the city to be identified is famous. There are several buildings in the city built in the same style. Good luck
