Where in the World (532)

Answer to edition 531

The Olympic Rings were a little misleading as we invariably associate them with cities that have hosted the Olympic Games. As the pagoda suggests the city is in the Far East it would indicate it is one of Seoul, Tokyo or Beijing. However, cities that host the Youth Olympic Games can also display the Olympic Rings. This is one such city.

The pagoda and the fact that city walls are visible give a clue to the city but a little picture research is required. This reveals that the city of Nanjing hosted the Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2014.

Last week's winner

Jackie (@jackiesjourneys), was the only person to identify the city as Nanjing. Special congratulations Jackie, it was a tough challenge. Well done.

This week's "Where in the World..."

This week’s “Where in the World…” is an iconic structure in a city that seems filled with them. It should make identifying the city far less challenging than those published recently. Good luck.
