A significant milestone
Today’s edition of “Where in the World…” is the 500th. When I posted the first one back in 2012 I never realised that it would still be going strong 500 weeks later. For those who have followed the weekly quiz regularly I would like to say a big “Thank you”
To mark the occasion this week there will be a prize draw for all those who submit a correct answer. The first name drawn will receive a £15 Amazon gift card, the second name drawn will receive a £5 Amazon gift caed.
The draw will take place at 10:01pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Answers must be submitted by that time. Your answer must have the hashtag #witw500 included.
Answer to edition 499
The flag flying from the tower in the foreground is really not much help. However, the tower from which it is flying is much more of a clue even though it does not stand out from the background. It is the Maiden Tower and can be found in the Bosphorus, the narrow stretch of water that separates Europe from Asia.
The city that straddles the Bosphorus is Istanbul.

Last week's winners
Congratulations to those who identified the distorted city from Where in the World (499) as Istanbul: Claudia (@crevilla_), Atul (@pixodentist), Tim (@timofnewbury), Todd (@toddunctious), Jackie (@jackiesjourneys), and someone from Visit Ljubljana (@visitljubljana).
This week's "Where in the World..."
In this week’s “Where in the World…” there is a complete scene that is associated with the city to be identified. It features the setting of the city as much as the city itself.
Remember this week all correct answers will go into a draw to win Amazon gift cards. Remember to us the hashtag #witw500. Good luck
