Game, set and a great match for Emma Raducanu
Fresh from her award as Sports Personality of the Year Emma Raducanu has been appointed as British Airways newest global ambassador.
The teenage tennis player burst onto the world tennis stage when she became the first qualifier to win the US Open Championship in September 2021. She was also the first British woman to win a Grand Slam title since Virgina Wade in 1977.
British Airways will fly Emma to training and matches around the world including next years French and US Opens as she builds on her first Grand Slam win. The appointment is Emma Raducanu’s first British brand partnership.
British Airways has a longstanding relationship with British sporting stars. The airline has enjoyed partnerships with Olympic Team GB, Paralympics GB and England Rugby.
Tom Stevens, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, says, “Sport has the power to inspire and unite people all across the globe, so we are delighted to be supporting Emma as she represents Britain and takes on the world.”
