Answer to edition 423
Many readers looked elsewhere other than the USA for the church, actually a cathedral, and were surprised to find the city was in the States. It was the Statue of General Andrew Jackson that provided the best identity clue. However, several cities in America were suggested; San Francisco and Washington DC being just two of them. The city with this statue and the very distinctive cathedral is New Orleans.
