Where in the World (382)

Happy New Year

At the start of 2020 I would like to wish all my readers a Happy New Year. For those who regularly visit the “Where in the World…” posts I hope that it is a successful year identifying many more distorted cities.

Last week’s distorted image depicted a row of colourful buildings. There are several cities that feature a row, or rows, of colourful buildings. Bergen and Copenhagen immediately come to mind as well St John’s, Newfoundland. No doubt you will come up with other suggestions. However, none of those was the correct identity of the city. The river is the Inn and the city is Innsbruck (literally Inn’s Bridge)

This week's winners

Congratulations this week to Jackie (@jackiesjourneys), Tim (@timofnewbury), and Beverley (@bevsackville) who all identified the city as Innsbruck.

This week's distorted image

There are three cities I associate with New Year, for three very different reasons. This distorted image is one of them though not a view seen very often in brochures and guidebooks promoting the city. There are a number of clues though that will help in the identification in this the first distorted image of 2020.
