There are several identifying buildings and structures in the distorted image from last week’s “Where in the World…” The building on the left of the photograph was a royal residence and looks across the river to a very ornate Baroque style parliament building (the dome of which is just visible). Across the river is an iconic bridge often featured in guidebooks and postcards of the city. The city takes its name from the two districts facing each other across the River Danube. The city is Budapest.
Congratulations to Dave (@travelling_dave), Atul (@pixodentist), Jackie (@jackiesjourneys) and Tim (@timofnewbury) who all identified the city correctly as the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
This week’s distorted image is of a complex of buildings. However it is only one of them that is iconic and recognised the world over. Remember it is the city you have to identify; it will help though if you can identify the buildings.
